“Flower Talismans”
Solo Exhibition by Ekaterina Zaznova
October 10–20, 2025
"Flowers that protect the soul"
Ekaterina Zaznova is a watercolor artist, the creator of the patented “Watercolor & Alcohol” technique, and a member of leading international art societies (AWS, NWS, TWSA).
After a successful career at PwC, Ekaterina embraced art as a path of personal transformation. Her educational course on experimental watercolor is recognized on international platforms, and her artworks have been featured at Affordable Art Fair NYC and in publications such as Anthology Magazine. Her work blends technique, philosophy, and emotion. From Flower Talismans to Marine Motifs, each series speaks in the language of resilience, symbolism, and the beauty of the inner world.

“Flower Talismans”
The “Flower Talismans” series is not about decorative florals — it is about archetypes of inner transformation. Here, watercolor becomes a symbolic language through which flowers emerge as guardians of strength, mirrors of vulnerability, and vessels of meaning.
For Ekaterina Zaznova, each flower is a visual talisman — an anchor of emotional experience, healing, and spiritual renewal. These are not botanical illustrations, but meditative reflections on the cyclical nature of life, the quiet power of softness, and the silent stories we carry within.
In Talisman of Fears, for example, three tulips represent the invisible chains of fear — the silent forces that hold us back. Yet within the petals, there is also the promise of release, of conscious recognition and liberation.
This body of work invites viewers into a visual dialogue: an exchange that transcends words and enters the intimate space of emotion and memory. It speaks to those who are seeking — clarity, strength, or simply a moment of stillness.
Blending classical watercolor with experimental effects, the series continues Zaznova’s artistic mission: to use watercolor not just as a medium, but as a means of inner communication — a space where symbolism, emotion, and transformation meet.
Through the fear
Talisman of strength
Talisman of life path
Talisman of life cycle
Talisman of dreams

Artist Statement

"Watercolor is not just a medium — it’s a language of transformation. Through layered textures, symbolism, and the chemistry of materials, I create visual dialogues that mirror our inner worlds."

For more than five years, watercolor has served as my primary means of artistic exploration. I combine classical techniques with unconventional materials — alcohol, salt, dry brush, spray — to achieve textures that speak to both emotion and matter. My series Flower Talismans, Textures, and Marine Motifs investigate life cycles, emotional thresholds, and the unseen forces that shape our inner experience.

By merging symbolic storytelling with tactile experimentation, I aim to expand the perception of watercolor as a powerful and resonant medium — capable of holding just as much depth, boldness, and presence as oil or acrylic. My mission is to inspire creative transformation — in myself and in others.
